
Synopsis
10-year-old Jamila embarks on a mission to remove her bushy mustache after a classmate mocks it. She then discovers an unusual method of hair removal, marking her entry into girlhood.
About the Director
Nathalie Tamer is a director and honors graduate of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication at MIU (2023). Her acclaimed experimental documentary, U-Turn, explored healthy living in Egypt. She
began as an assistant producer at Extra News before joining Blessing Films as Assistant Director and Assistant CEO. Nathalie also co-directed the short film "Heya Khebra" during the Helm El Nour workshop under the mentorship of Mariam Abou-Ouf. Beyond the lens, she is a dedicated researcher focused on women’s empowerment. Currently a Film Business scholarship recipient (AUC/Silver Screen), Nathalie works as a freelance Assistant Director while developing her distinct voice as a filmmaker.
About the Writers
Mariam Abbass started writing stories at just 7 years old. She later took them to stage when her theatre teacher encouraged her to write scripts at 13. She then majored in Communication and
Media Arts at AUC. In her senior year, her short film "Whisper", participated in the Direct Online Short Film Festival. Post-graduation, she dabbled in many media related fields. In 2024, Mariam co-wrote the short film “Sabri Nafad” under the supervision of Sard workshop. Currently, Mariam is developing her first feature film as a writer and creative producer while
working full-time in the field of movie localization.
Haguer Abouellil is a Screenwriter whose work is deeply rooted in the human stories of daily life. Transitioning from a background in journalism and articles to cinema, she has dedicated her
craft to exploring authentic, character-driven narratives. Haguer refined her screenwriting through prestigious programs, including MedFest’s “From Script to Screen” workshop supervised by Ayman Al Amir. In 2024, she co-wrote the short film Every Month’s Rent, which was developed during the Helm El Nour workshop under the supervision of SARD/Mariam Naoum. Currently, Haguer continues to write stories inspired by people she crosses paths with through her work as a pharmacist.
