Synopsis:

Through six-year-old Sara’s eyes in 1980s Cairo, a fragile mother’s rage and tenderness collide, shaping a child’s first understanding of love, loss, and fleeting joy inside a broken everyday home.

About the Director:

Noha Elostaz is a Palestinian-Egyptian filmmaker and cinematographer whose work moves between fiction, documentary, and theatre. She began her career in theatre in Cairo and France before studying cinematography in New York City. She has worked as a camera operator and assistant camera with directors of photography in both NYC and Egypt, and later as a cinematographer on several films, including Collective Women of Hilwan and The Mountain. Her work has been showcased at international platforms including the Berlinale and the Venice Biennale. She is currently finishing her short film Thank You Mother for Trying.
